S2C Expands Kintex UltraScale Prototyping Solutions for Consumer-based IoT and Other Small to Medium-Sized Designs

Single KU115 Prodigy Logic Module Well-Suited for Calculation-Intensive Applications

SAN JOSE, Calif. – January 11, 2016 –  S2C, Inc., a leading provider of FPGA-based rapid prototyping solutions, has announced the availability of its Single KU115 Prodigy Logic Module that supports the Xilinx Kintex UltraScale XCKU115 FPGA. Internet of Things (IoT) designs and other small to medium-sized SoCs will benefit the most from this latest addition to S2C’s family of Kintex UltraScale prototyping solutions. Prodigy KU is well suited for calculation-intensive applications with the most DSP resources of any other board on the market. The prototyping board also boasts 48 GTH transceivers for high-speed communication throughput. This low cost, all-purpose, stand-alone prototyping system is integrated with S2C's market-leading, vast library of daughter cards to quickly build prototype targets.

Highlights of the Single KU115 Prodigy Logic Module include:

  • Low cost parallel system integration and software development

  • Large capacity of 1,451K System Logic Cells

  • 5,520 DSP slices

  • 75.9 Mb of FPGA internal memory

  • 624 I/Os and 48 GTH transceivers on 8 high-speed connectors

  • Full scalability – can be used as standalone or in Prodigy Cloud Cube™ enterprise modes

  • Abundant add-on features

"We continually strive to provide the best prototyping solutions to meet the needs of all types of designs no matter their size or complexity," said Toshio Nakama, CEO of S2C. "We are excited to provide developers of today's smaller IoT devices a practical and valuable solution with our Single KU Prodigy Logic Module and its array of additional hardware and software auxiliary components within the Prodigy Complete Prototyping Platform."

The System features 6th generation remote management functions through either USB or Ethernet. Prodigy Player Pro™ Runtime Software is included and can be run on both Windows and Linux systems to perform basic functions such as FPGA download, write/read on-board SD card for off-line download, clock and reset set-up, I/O voltage settings, hardware monitoring, and self-test. The Player Pro Runtime Software also supports Virtual SWs & LEDs for simple tasks such as changing a setting or indicating a condition remotely, and automatically determining which daughter cards are installed on Logic Modules or cable setups between connectors.
