S2C Releases 11 New TAI Logic Accessory Modules Exhibiting at SoCIP 2008 Dec 03, 2008

Woodcliff Lake, NJ, December 3, 2008— S2C Inc., a leading total solution provider in facilitating systems to chip innovations, is pleased to announce the release of 11 new accessory modules for its flagship TAI Logic Module products, rapid SoC prototyping systems based on Xilinx FPGA, and will be showcasing these new accessory modules at the SoCIP 2008 Seminar & Exhibition on Oct 13th in Beijing and Oct 15th in Shanghai.   The newly released 11 TAI Logic Accessories Modules include MDC RISC32 Testchip Module, MDC TV Decoder Module, MDC TV Encoder Module, MDC Audio Interface Module, 2 Channel 128MB DDR on SO-DIMM Memory Module, 256MB DDR on SO-DIMM Memory Module, MDC Multifunctional Memory Module, MDC MS/SD/XD Interface Module, MDC Compact Flash/Smart Media Interface Module, MDC Ethernet PHY Interface Module, MDC GPIO Interface Module.  The addition of these new accessory modules will enable both existing and new TAI Logic Module users to further speed up prototyping of their SoC by reducing the needs to develop custom application boards for testing with their target systems.

"The new TAI Logic Accessory Modules work out-of-box with the S2C's latest generation Virtex-5 TAI Logic Module series, which are equipped with either single or dual Xilinx LX series Virtex-5 FPGAs, with up to a 6.6 million ASIC gates of capacity.   The Virtex-5 TAI Logic Modules are exceptionally flexible with up to 1320 external IO for interfacing to targets and Multiple TAI Logic Modules can be stacked for additional logic capacity," said Mr. Toshio Nakama, Chief Executive Officer of S2C.  "When building SoC prototypes on FPGA, designers simply choose the TAI Logic Modules that fit their design capacities and then select the interface modules that fit their applications from the wide library of TAI Logic Accessory Modules.  With the addition of the 11 new accessory modules, customers now have over 20 different accessory modules to choose from to effortlessly put together SoC prototypes on FPGA without having to build custom target boards." A number of the new TAI Logic Accessory Modules are suitable for multimedia applications.  For example, the TV Decoder Module provides TV decoding from analog inputs and outputs various digital formats such as 411 YUV, 422 YUV, 565 RGB and 888 RGB.  The TV Encoder Module enables user designs in TAI Logic Modules to output a number of video standards, such as DB-15 VGA, S-Video, CSVB and YCbCr, and watch the quality of user design on a real TV.  The Audio Interface Module enables designers to interface to either AC-97 or I2S controlled audio devices with microphone, headphone, line-in and line-out ports.  Finally, TAI Logic Modules users now have out-of-box access to almost all popular memory formats such as SDRAM, DDR, DDR2, SRAM, Compact Flash, Memory Stick, Smart Media and SDIO.

S2C will be exhibiting the new TAI Logic Accessory Modules and how these 11 modules, together with Virtex-5 TAI Logic Modules, can accelerate your SoC time-to-prototype at the SoCIP 2008 events at Beijing on October 13th and Shanghai on October 15th. SoCIP is an annual seminar and exhibition dedicated to the SoC design industry in China, bringing together the regional SoC designers/professionals and the international silicon IP and SoC solution vendors. The SoCIP 2008 is organized by S2C and features seminar sessions and exhibition booths from seven global silicon IP and SoC design solution brand names: Cast, eASIC, IPextreme, Ittiam, S2C, Tensilica and Transwitch. About S2C

Founded and headquartered in San Jose, California, S2C is the leading total solution provider in facilitating systems to chip innovations. S2C has four solutions for system-on-chip (SoC) development:

  • Rapid SoC prototyping on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)

  • Third-party silicon intellectual properties (IP)

  • Customizable, zero mask-charge eASIC semiconductor devices

  • SoC design, prototype and production Servicess

S2C's value proposition is our highly qualified engineering team and customer-focused sales force that understands our customers' commercial needs in SoC development. S2C's unique FPGA-based electronic system level (ESL) solution, using our patented TAI IP technology, enables designers employ silicon IP to quickly assemble SoC prototypes on FPGA easily and securely, thereby enabling customers to start software development, typically the long pole item in development schedules, immediately. Combining rapid prototyping methodologies with a comprehensive portfolio of silicon IP and advanced design solutions, S2C can reduce the SoC design cycle by up to nine months.

S2C currently has 3 direct offices located in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen to meet the demand for accelerated SoC design activities in China. S2C is also the organizer of the annual SoCIP seminar and exhibition in China, which brings SoC designers/professionals from the Asia-Pacific region together with international silicon IP and SoC solution vendors.
