S2C Teams with Ittiam Systems to Offer Embedded Wi-Fi Solutions on SoC in China Nov 29, 2007

Shanghai, China – November 29, 2007—S2C Inc., a provider of advanced system-on-chip (SoC) design solutions, is pleased to announce that it has entered an agreement to distribute the intellectual property (IP) solutions of Ittiam Systems, a leading provider of digital media processing and communication IP solutions.


Ittiam Systems' Wi-Fi Certified TM extensive portfolio of IEEE 802.11-based wireless LAN IP is available for secure evaluation and integration on FPGA prototype through S2C's TAI Logic Module evaluation platform. S2C's IP prototyping on FPGA and SoC design Servicess can help customers incorporate 802.11 capabilities into their SoCs while reducing cycle time by three to six months.


The wireless LAN market shipped approximately 213 million chipsets units in 2006 and is expected to double in size to 430 million chipsets shipped in 2009, according to research firm In-Stat. Primary growth is expected to transition from traditional network equipment to portable devices such as cell phones and handheld games. As power, size, and cost optimization are key drivers in portability, utilizing embedded Wi-Fi IP in SoC is the most practical means to implement Wi-Fi functionality.

IP deliverables include Verilog RTL source/object code, system models, test bench frameworks, and comprehensive user documentation.
